What We Do

District Doughnut is a team of chefs and entrepreneurs serving specialty doughnuts to our Nation’s Capital. We handcraft fresh doughnuts daily at our store, featuring classic and internationally-inspired flavors. Founded in and for the DC area, we strive to infuse our pastries with the city's classic history and vibrant creative spirit.

Why We Went Into Food

Throughout their friendship, our founders Juan Pablo and Greg spent many hours bonding over doughnuts. Upon meeting Chef Christine and tasting her pastry creations, they found both a kindred spirit and a master of her craft. In her Brown Butter doughnut recipe, they realized a delightful secret about which the rest of the world needed to know. Two years and thousands of doughnuts later, our team continues to share the District Doughnut experience with everyone in the Nation’s capital.

What We Love

Doughnuts are a timeless favorite – especially in our great nation’s history! In rethinking this classic treat, we seek to bring people together through the shared experience of the most delicious product possible. Meeting fellow DCers from all walks of life and seeing them experience a District Doughnut for the first time inspires us in our pursuit of excellence. Our greatest satisfaction is in creating a delightful experience for each customer, whether we are in the kitchen or behind a desk!

What Is Next For Us

We just opened our first store across from the iconic Marine Barracks on Barracks Row in Capitol Hill. Our journey has taken us all around the DC Metro Area beginning with a debut at the Metro Cooking Expo, a special feature at the Ritz Carlton, Tysons Corner, a weekly presence at Georgetown University’s student-owned coffee shop, and special deliveries to the CNN Situation Room. All of this was made possible through our membership at Union Kitchen.
